Student Evaluations from the Danish Technical University (DTU)

July 31, 2014 by Rolf Ostergaard

logo_DTUGreat to see that the students at the Danish Technical University (DTU) evaluate each lecturer one by one.

This is a great feed-back to get as a lecturer. So I also got an evaluation here from the 3-week signal integrity course I helped run this June. I am going to share this in the name of openness. I assume NSA already knows about it, but if you are interested too – here it is 🙂

Learn Memory Design

July 22, 2014 by Rolf Ostergaard

I have arranged for Hermann Ruckerbauer to come to Copenhagen in September (24+25) to teach his course in memory design. He has a background in dynamic memory chip design at Qimonda and Infinion and has followed the JEDEC group for many years. Today he runs courses and does consulting on optimal board level memory design,… Read more

Great Students to Watch

July 22, 2014 by Rolf Ostergaard

We just completed the first signal integrity course at the Danish Technical University (DTU) in a long, long time. Actually the last similar course was more than 5 years ago. I complained loudly about this fact in the danish engineering magazines, and eventually DTU decided to do something about it. I got involved, and the… Read more

Simulating SSN with Hyperlynx

June 9, 2014 by Rolf Ostergaard

Figuring out how to simulate ground bounce, Vcc bounce, SSN, SSO (or whatever you want to call it) is not trivial – this is a step-by-step guide to doing Hyperlynx SSN simulations right. This being so difficult is actually a shame, as it can very well be the most significant factor in your signal integrity… Read more

Fully Understand DDR Memory

April 29, 2014 by Rolf Ostergaard

Almost all embedded systems include memory. Often in the form of DDR (double data-rate) dynamic RAM (DRAM). This technology is driven by large servers with lots of memory and portable devices with cheap fast low power memory. Two areas with rapid development, driving up the density as Moores law predicted back in 1965. With that… Read more

New 3-week Signal Integrity Course at DTU

April 29, 2014 by Rolf Ostergaard

After not having signal integrity as a subject for many years, Danish Technical University (DTU) is finally stepping up to the plate and has introduced this as a standard 5 ETS point 3 week course to run for the first time in June 2014. This is really good news for the danish electronics industry, as… Read more
